VOICES:

Although it can be difficult to accurately portray oneself, I opted to display my mental state rather than my physical state. By creating this red gown, I concealed my face, exposing only parts of my body that could tell a story. Through the use of light and the translucent dress, my intention is to bring forth the people who occupy my thoughts. The dynamic of this piece is to reflect the different voices that guide me.

LIFE SERIES:

These photographs explore the relationship between painting and reality. I began by creating paintings designed to inhabit physical spaces, then invited people to interact within those spaces to observe how the two elements merge in a photograph. We are accustomed to seeing images of people and images of paintings, but rarely the interaction between the two. This experimentation offers viewers a new way of seeing—blending distinct elements of the real world, altering them through painted intervention, and finally capturing the transformed space through photography.

WHAT CONSUMES US:

What creates who we are are our memories and our stories. By using baby powder to cover their bodies and create a white base, I am able to remove their individuality and shift the focus to the mask. The mask tells two stories of two incredible people who were in love and began a long lineage. This is how I tell their story.
